How Psychologist Alal collects, uses and protects your personal and health information.

Who we are

This website, alalcp.com, belongs to Psychologist Alal (Md Alal Mia), a psychologist in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In this policy, “I”, “we” and “us” mean Psychologist Alal. The chamber is at Model Addiction and Psychiatric Care, 113/A, Gate No. 1 Road, Monipuripara, Farmgate, Tejgaon, Dhaka 1215. Email: contact@alalcp.com. Phone and WhatsApp: +8801929446548.

Because this is a mental health service, I treat everything you share as sensitive. This policy explains what information is collected, why, how it is protected, and the choices you have.

Summary

In short

  • I collect only what is needed to reply to you, book appointments and provide care.
  • I never sell your information or use it for advertising to others.
  • Health information is treated as sensitive and kept confidential.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

Information I collect

  • When you contact me by WhatsApp, phone, email or Facebook: your name or the name you use, phone number or email, and anything you choose to write about your concern.
  • When you book or attend sessions: appointment details, and the clinical notes and assessment results needed to provide care. These are kept separately from the website.
  • When you subscribe to MindCast: your email address.
  • When you comment on an article: the name, email and comment you enter. Your comment and name may appear publicly.
  • When you browse the website: standard technical data such as IP address, browser, device and pages visited, collected by the hosting provider and by Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel through cookies, and by the Meta Conversions API from our server (only if you allow it).

How I use it

  • To reply to your questions and arrange appointments
  • To provide assessment, therapy and testing, and to keep proper clinical records
  • To send MindCast emails, only if you subscribed
  • To keep the website secure and understand, in general terms, how it is used so it can be improved
  • To meet legal or professional obligations

I do not use your information for automated decisions about you, and I do not sell, rent or trade it.

Sensitive and health information

Information about your mental health is sensitive personal data. It is collected only with your consent, used only for your care, and shared with no one without your permission. In line with the Personal Data Protection Ordinance 2025 of Bangladesh and professional ethics for psychologists, it is given extra protection.

Limits of confidentiality: I may need to share information without consent only if there is a serious and immediate risk to your life or someone else’s, if a child is at risk of harm, or if a court legally requires it. Where possible, I will discuss this with you first.

Who your information may be shared with

  • Other professionals, such as a psychiatrist, only with your consent, for example when coordinating care.
  • Service providers that make the website and communication work: website hosting, WhatsApp (Meta), email, video call platforms, Google Analytics, and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) for measuring visits and showing our posts and ads. Their servers may be outside Bangladesh, and they process data under their own privacy policies.
  • Authorities, only where the law requires it.

Cookies

The website uses cookies that are needed for it to work, analytics cookies from Google Analytics, and the Meta Pixel. When you allow it, the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API (sent from our server) share which pages you visited and whether you tapped WhatsApp, call or email, together with technical data such as IP address, browser and Meta cookie identifiers. Meta uses this to measure our ads and to show our posts and ads to people who visited the site. Nothing you write in messages or say in sessions is ever shared. Visitors in the UK and Europe are asked before these cookies are used, and everyone can choose Accept or Decline in the cookie notice. To change your choice later, clear this site’s data in your browser. You can also manage ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account.

How long information is kept

  • WhatsApp and email messages: as long as needed to arrange and provide care
  • Clinical records: kept securely for as long as professional and legal standards require, then securely destroyed
  • MindCast email address: until you unsubscribe
  • Website analytics: according to Google Analytics retention settings

How it is protected

Clinical notes are stored securely and are accessible only to me. The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending very detailed personal information through website forms or comments. WhatsApp or a session is the better place for that. If a data breach ever affects your information, you will be informed and the relevant authority notified as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to:

  • Know what information I hold about you and how it is used
  • Get a copy of it
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Withdraw your consent, for example to unsubscribe from MindCast
  • Have your information deleted, unless I must keep it for legal or professional reasons

Send your request to contact@alalcp.com or WhatsApp +8801929446548. I aim to respond within 30 days.

Children and teenagers

Services for anyone under 18 are arranged with a parent or guardian, who gives consent for care. Children should not submit personal information on this website without a parent’s permission. Teenagers’ privacy within therapy is respected, and what is shared with parents is agreed at the start.

Links to other websites

This website links to other sites such as Google Maps, YouTube, Facebook and research journals. I am not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

Emergencies

WhatsApp, email and this website are not monitored around the clock and are not for emergencies. If you or someone near you is at immediate risk, go to the nearest hospital emergency department or call 999.
